Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada, is both an adventure destination and a luxury dream location. The park is home to many luxurious hotels and other amenities.
As part of Le Club Accor Hotels’ Seeker Project, I was able to stay at Fairmont Banff Springs and Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise during my recent visit to Banff National Park. I was able to stay in these hotels because they are close to many attractions. They also offer amazing amenities and activities right inside the hotel.
How to get to Banff National Park
Flying into Calgary International Airport is the best and fastest way to reach Banff National Park. You can then rent a car. You can explore the park on your own time and schedule by renting a car.
If you don’t want to rent a car, there is a shuttle service that runs regularly from Calgary Airport to the towns of Banff or Lake Louise.
When is the best time to visit Banff National Park?
It all depends on the experience you want from Banff. Banff is an amazing place to ski, ice skate, or snowshoe.
Banff’s summertime can be quite hectic, but it is a great time to visit for hiking and canoeing.

Fairmont Properties in Banff National Park
- Fairmont Banff Springs
The Fairmont Banff Springs was originally established in 1888 by Canadian Pacific Railway. It is an important piece of Canadian history. The original hotel was closed after a few decades of operation. It was rebuilt in 1928 and is a magnificent castle-like structure with many luxurious amenities.
My Le Club AccorHotels membership (a points membership associated to the Fairmont) allowed me to stay on the Gold Luxury Floor. The service was excellent and the amenities plentiful. Every day, I received complimentary breakfast, snacks, and a pair sneakers thanks to the partnership with Reebok.
I enjoyed the amenities and a relaxing afternoon at Willow Stream Spa. I also had a delicious, filling Afternoon tea in Rundle Lounge. The views from there are incredible. I also took advantage of the fully-equipped gym.
- Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise can be found just 40 minutes from Banff. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains, Lake Louise which is very turquoise, and the Victoria Glacier. The hotel is a haven for many great restaurants, a wonderful wellness program, mountain adventures excursions, and spacious, comfortable suites.
I used the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise’s Suite Life program to book dining reservations and arrange transportation.
The hotel’s Suite Life program offered me complimentary breakfast, valet parking and nightly turndown services. Fresh cut flowers were also available.
Fairmont properties are known for their commitment to sustainability and waste management. It was amazing to learn that they had scales in all of their restaurants so they could measure food waste. They also worked hard to reduce water consumption whenever possible.
- Le Club AccorHotels
Le Club AccorHotels, a membership program that is associated with these Fairmont properties, will give you access to all participating AccorHotels locations around the globe. This means that you will earn points for every stay, but you also get benefits from their partners, early-bird sales access, and elite experiences.
- The Seeker Project
Le Club AccorHotels developed the Seeker Project. It was inspired by the belief that luxury comes from anticipating your needs. It involves guests being immersed in an interactive sensory experience that measures biometric and behavioral responses to determine the type of experience they are seeking. It’s astonishingly accurate, in fact!
